They became brothers with the liver transplantation

18-year-old Hüseyin Kazma, who fell ill and went into a coma within 20 days, needed an emergency liver transplant to survive. When the family members did not fit, his older sister informed her high school friends.

Oğuzhan Ballı, who sold his phone for travel money to save his classmate’s brother who fell into a coma, and gave a piece of his liver to the young man on his deathbed, brought 18-year-old Hüseyin Kazma back to life. Hüseyin Kazma, regained a healthy life with the liver transplant performed by the Head of Memorial Ataşehir Hospital Organ Transplantation Center Prof. Dr. K. Yalçın Polat.

My family was found to be not compatible

Stating that he was diagnosed with jaundice approximately 1 year ago, Hüseyin Kazma explained his days as follows: “When I was diagnosed with jaundice, I clearly did not care much. Recently, I have been experiencing pain, my feet were swollen, but I was not talking about this to anyone. However, whatever happened, happened within 20 days and suddenly I found myself under intensive care. I also knew that my condition was getting worse. Frankly, I cannot express how I feel when the only solution is transplantation. My family was mobilized when our doctor Yalçın Polat told me that the only treatment for me to recover was liver transplantation. My relatives came to the hospital for transplant compliance tests; however, 8 family members who came to the hospital were not found suitable for the transplant. But Oğuzhan’s tissue was suitable. I can’t thank him enough for giving me life. “

Now I will call him “My liver”

Oğuzhan Ballı, who came to the hospital without even notifying his mother upon his friend Kübra Kazma’s call, said, “When Kübra called me and said that he would lose his brother if there was no transplant, I was very sad. My family was not at home. Kübra said that if I accept it, they can pick me up to come to the hospital the next day; But since I didn’t have any money at that time, I immediately sold my phone and went to the hospital. When I came to the hospital, 8 family members who accepted to be a donor could not fit. The family was miserable, everyone was crying. At that moment, my inner voice told me that I would be the person who would save Huseyin’s life, and I wanted the tests to be done without thinking immediately. ” Learning that he was compatible for transplantation after the tests, Ballı said, “I gave my liver without hesitation. Now we are brothers, we are two families. I will now call him “My Liver”. I saved a person’s life. There can be nothing more beautiful than this”.
